Duck Egg Design was established in 2011, specialising in creating interiors for all styles and budgets.
I am a qualified designer since 2007 and enjoy creating interiors that feel like a home. I personally love to mix textures, create layers and interest. I also love to mix vintage with contemporary, but can deliver interior design for your personal style.
I shop everywhere and anywhere to select the right pieces and I take the time to establish what your preferred style is to achieve and ultimately create your sanctuary. I have worked with builders from the foundations through to completion, and can also just do a makeover.
So far word of mouth has been my greatest promotion tool, however check out the gallery to look at spaces I have furnished and attributed to making a home.
I am a full time interior designer, with a husband and 3 boys, 3 rabbits (all boys), a staffy (a boy) and several lizards (you guessed it…also boys).
I have included my own home within the gallery, and this has evolved over many years, as I take the time, and a limited budget to make our interiors a reflection of my design aesthetics and a home for our boys. Everything is very much loved and yet nothing is so precious that we don’t use it.
I am an avid reader and watcher of anything design related, along with crime stories and I’m addicted to TV shows such as “Walking Dead”, Game of Thrones and The Block”, but that’s about all I have time to watch.

Client Brief
"Furnish my home with traditional pieces, that will compliment the existing curtains and carpet."
The Solution
For this project we imported furniture and lighting from the US, custom made furniture and soft furnishings, selected artwork, wallpapered and created a custom built fireplace and storage cabinetry for the living room.
Client Brief
"Update and introduce some new pieces to our existing furnishings, that reflect our passion for vintage, add some colour and update our bedroom and veranda, as well as create something in an awkward nook near the front door."
The Solution
We designed a custom built bookcase that had compartments of various sizes to store their collection of books and decoratifs, within the awkward nook. We also provided furnishings, decoratifs, lighting and wallpaper to update the home.
Client Brief
"We are renting, but want to create a nursery that isn’t too girly, and using an existing chest of draws made by my father".
The Solution
We were allowed to paint the room, introduced artwork, feeding/nursery chair, bedding, lighting, a sheepskin rug and imported a gorgeous orange floor lamp.
